[시놉시스]
한 남녀가 바닷가 옆 카페에 마주 앉아있다. 서로의 마지막 순간을 마주하는 동안 과거의 장면들이 파도 소리와 함께 그들 머릿속을 스쳐간다. 하나의 우주를 형성했던 각자의 시간과 기억이 파도처럼 쓸려와 파노라마처럼 펼쳐지고 흩어진다. 그리고 남녀가 마지막으로 나누는 카페에서의 대화는 파도의 잔해처럼 남아있다.
[Synopsis]
A man and a woman are seated in a seadside café facing each other. And the traces of their emotions and memories pass by in their mind along the sound of the wave. It is a panorama of a single universe coming and dispersing like a wave.
And the last conversation at the cafe is left behind like a remnant of the wave.
헤어짐을 앞둔 두 인물들은 자신들 머릿속을 스치는 장면들을 단조로운 시선과 관조적인 태도로 응시한다.
그리고 애니메이션도 그런 그들을 응시한다. 장면이라는 단어가 갖는 관조적인 태도를 빌어, 단조롭게 오가는 그들의 마지막 대화와 그리고 곧 누구의 것도 아닌채 남겨질 기억 속 장면들을 응시한다.
극적인 서사를 배제함으로써 관객과 영화 사이에 만들어지는 틈과 응시라는 관조적 태도를 통해 <남겨지는 장면들> 은 캐릭터들의 감정과 기억을 은유적으로 암시한다.
In the moment of a breakup, the two characters replay their passing memories in their minds with a plain and tepid manner, and the animation reflects their story in parallel to this sentiment.
With a word 'scene' which sounds detached and uninvolved, the animation gazes into their dull and banal conversations, and the scenes from their memories which will be left behind by the two characters.
